Symptom
- There is a requirement to connect an on-premise SAP HANA database to SAP Datasphere.
- The Data Provisioning Agent has been installed.
- The necessary steps as per Prepare Connectivity to SAP HANA and Preparing Data Provisioning Agent Connectivity have been completed.
- Validating a HANA Database connection to the SAP Datasphere Data Provisioning Agent results in the following errors:
- Unable to connect remote source: Error occurred when connecting to Hana database. Error: [10]: authentication failed., Code: 5921, SQL State: HY000
- Remote Tables: Unable to connect remote source: [SAP AG][LIBODBCHDB SO][HDBODBC] General error;10 authentication failed, Code: 5921, SQL State: HY000

Reproducing the Issue
- Configure the SAP HANA connection with Authentication Type: User Name And Password
- Use the Validate option in SAP Datasphere to test the connection.
Cause
The SAP HANA Credentials of the connection are incorrect.
Resolution
- Check and verify the logon credentials.
- If possible, try to logon directly to the DB with the same credentials.
