3474826 - Recommendation Tile - the Behavior of Dismissed Recommended Items

A user dismisses a recommended item.

• The same item reappears when a peer recommends it.
• The same item does not reappear when an admin recommends it again via the Assignment Profile.

Both behavior are working as expected.

When a user dismisses a recommended item, the system behaves differently depending on who is recommending the item again:

• If a peer recommends the same item again, it will reappear in the Recommendation tile. This is because the system allows peers to recommend items to each other, regardless of whether the item has been dismissed previously.
• If an admin recommends the same item again via the Assignment Profile, it will not reappear until the student's dismissed item data is purged. This purge happens automatically after 18 months. This is to prevent admins from repeatedly recommending the same items that a user has already dismissed.
