Unable to update existing number ranges of sales documents in configuration activity "Define Number Ranges For Sales Documents (ID: 102819)".

• SAP existing number ranges are by design NOT editable in the configuration activity "Define Number Ranges For Sales Documents (ID: 102819)". In other words, it is behaving as expected that number ranges of sales documents is unable to be updated.
• Before CE2602, editing existing number ranges is restricted in all systems except the Starter system, and starting from CE2602, these restrictions are also applied to the Starter system to ensure consistency across all systems.
• With regard to why number ranges are NOT suggested to be changed, below is an example to help explain this:
  Number ranges are created and assigned to sales document types. When a sales document is created, a new number is generated. The "Number Range Status" always shows the latest document number which was given against the number range interval. Till now, all data is consistent.
  However, if changing one number range interval (even deleting the line and inserting a new line), then when a sales document is generated, the document number generator will request a new number against the new number range. This "new" number may have already existed in the database, which may cause critical problem.
  That's why "deleting and changing" are not opened to end-users. This ensures that every number range has no overlap and avoid the above issue from happening.
• Although existing number can't be deleted or changed, new intervals can be created in the configuration activity "Define Number Ranges For Sales Documents (ID: 102819)" if clicking the "Insert Line" button, as shown below:
