3475164 - After moving the story into different folder from folder A to folder B of the source system, when you try to import the new package in the destination system then the story is not getting saved in the folder B in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

After moving the story into different folder from folder A to folder B of the source system, when you try to import the new package in the destination system then the story is not getting saved in the folder B in SAC.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud Version: 2024.8.10

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Login to the source tenant.
  2. Go into the folder A.
  3. Now, Go into Transport > Export > Content Network.
  4. Click on + icon.
  5. Select the story.
  6. Provide package name.
  7. Select the destination tenant.
  8. Click on "Next".
  9. Click on "Export".
  10. After the file gets exported.
  11. Now, Login to the target tenant.
  12. Go into Transport > Import > Content Network.
  13. Select the package.
  14. Select the import option "Overwrite Objects and Data".
  15. Click on "Import".
  16. Now, go into the folder A.
  17. Now, select the story.
  18. Delete the story.
  19. Now, go back to the source tenant.
  20. Move the story into the folder B.
  21. Now, go into Transport > Export > Content Network again.
  22. Select the story.
  23. Provide the package name.
  24. Select the destination tenant.
  25. Click on "Next".
  26. Click on "Export".
  27. Now, go the target tenant.
  28. Go into Transport > Import > Content Network.
  29. Select the package.
  30. Select the import option "Overwrite Objects and Data".

You will see that the story is not getting imported in the folder B. Instead of getting imported here it is getting imported under the folder A.

Cause

The reason this is happening is because, though the story is deleted from target, it is not completely removed from system, to remove it from the system you will have to go to "Deleted Files" section and delete the story from there as well.

Resolution

After removing it from "Deleted Files," import it again using the updated folder structure, and your tenant ought to see the difference.
