3475242 - Extension Field value Disappears when you edit the Purchase Order

The user has created a purchase order and added extension field value, and then ordered the purchase order.

Later the user tries to edit the ordered purchase order and the extension field value which he/she had manually entered, disappears.

SAP Business By Design

1. Go to Purchase Requests and Orders work center
2. Create a new purchase order and enter the value in extension field
3. Select "Order" on the purchase order
4. Now try to edit the sent purchase order
5. The extension field value disappears.

Under Adaptation mode-> further usage-> extension scenario, you have set such a scenario that system expects the extension field data to be coming from another document like master data.

e.g. "Service - General Information to Purchase Order - Item" 

But  if there is no such extension field in the master data, then no value will be populated in the extension field in order.

Each time you edit the order, system refreshes the data and the value disappears.

Either the value should be entered in the extension field created in master data so that it comes to the purchase order screen or this extension scenario should be disabled in the order.
