3475295 - Some columns are showing "*" when previeing data in app Custom Analytical Query - SAP S/4HANA Cloud

When previewing data of a custom analytical query, some columns/measures are showing "*" instead of the real element value.

SAP S/4HANA Cloud 

1. Open Custom Analytical Query app
2. Search for the Query
3. Click on "preview"
4. Check the specific columns

An aggregation for the element has not been configured in the Custom CDS Views app.

Aggregations are used to define the interpretation of numeric data e.g. in an analytical scenario. As a result to setting an aggregation, a field is interpreted as measure when using it in a custom analytical query later on. That's why defining an aggregation behavior is necessary for each numeric field in an analytical scenario, except for the representative key. 

 

 

In order to show the correct amount, edit the Custom CDS View on which the Query is based and add the aggregation.
