3475917 - Logon to BI using LDAP Authentication gives error "Your user name is not unique on the LDAP server. Please log on using distinguished name"

Symptom

  • When logging in to BI launchpad/CMC with LDAP credentials you get one of the following errors:

    • "Your user name is not unique on the LDAP server. Please log on using distinguished name"

    • "Account information not recognized: LDAP authentication could not log you on. Your user name is not unique on the LDAP server. Please log on using your distinguished name."

  • Similar errors seen in High level CMS (Central Management Server) trace.
