Symptom
An error occurs when trying to connect Datasphere when validating the connection. The error message is the following or similar:
- Remote Tables: Unable to connect remote source: Remote source is down!, Code: 5921, SQL State: HY000
- Correlation ID: xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxx-xxxxxxx

Reproducing the Issue
When trying to connect to Datasphere, an error message is received when validating the connection.
Resolution
It is recommended to first check if the current connection settings match to the document below:
If everything was configured correctly and the issue still persist, perform the steps on our troubleshooting guide for DPagent:
Check the DP Agent framework.trc file (<DPAgent_root>/log/framework.trc) and investigate if any of the following errors can be found:
- DPFramework | WorkerThread.processRequest [] - com.sap.hana.dp.adapter.sdk.AdapterException: Remote source is down! Context: com.sap.db.jdbc.exceptions.JDBCDriverException: SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:sap://
Cause: wrong HANA DB host or port
Solution: in case HANA system is needed during connection creation, review the HANA DB host and port - SDAAdapterDelegate | ExceptionUtil.newAdapterException [] - Remote source is down! Cannot establish JDBC connection. Error: SAP DBTech JDBC: Cannot connect to jdbc:xxx://xxxxxxxxxxx:xxxxx [Cannot connect to host xxxxxxxxxxx:xxxxx [sun.security.validator.ValidatorException: PKIX path building failed: sun.security.provider.certpath.SunCertPathBuilderException: unable to find valid certification path to requested target], -813.:
Cause: Validate Server Certificate field is set to 'true' under SAP HANA Security section
