The usage of the main domain as the main sender is highly discouraged as it will have bad consequences if mailbox providers flag your domain as spam or marketing/promotional. If this occurs, personal 1-to-1 mails sent by the sender may end up being delivered to spam or marketing/other folders instead reaching the main inbox of intended recipients.
It is a lot harder to get out of those folders than it is ending up in one.
