Symptom

Start of Software Provisioning Manager - sapinst executable - (SAP Note: 1680045) fails with the error:

Unable to get handle to iamodell.so:    0509-130 Symbol resolution failed for /tmp/sapinst_exe.<###>/iaguieng.so because:
        0509-136   Symbol _StdStringExponentialAllocation__Q2_3std7_LFS_ON (number 298) is not exported from
                   dependent module /usr/lib/libC.a[ansi_64.o].
        0509-022 Cannot load module .
        0509-026 System error: Cannot run a file that does not have a valid format.
        0509-192 Examine .loader section symbols with the
                 'dump -Tv' command.
