Symptom
When the feature "Auto Data Purge" for Documents in Data Retention Management is enabled, once the documents are purged, the files do not disappear, but their content gets replaced with the sentence "The document you are trying to access has been removed from the system."
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management
Resolution
Once the documents are purged, the files do not disappear, but their content gets replaced with the sentence "The document you are trying to access has been removed from the system."
This has been confirmed by Product Management as the current behaviour of the product.
Please note that once the documents are purged, they cannot be restored.
Nevertheless, as candidates might not be aware that the content of their resumes and attachments got removed, they will apply to Jobs with their current "empty" resumes.
We understand that this current behaviour could be improved, hence we have created an internal enhancement request.
Please reach out to your CSM and provide this id as a reference number in order to get regular updates on it: RCM-128401.
As a workaround you might consider configuring an instruction field to invite candidates to check their resumes and upload new ones in case they got purged.
