Symptom
- Currently story tables will always show dates based on user’s operating system time zone. Date calculations that are dependent on value stored in database will not give the expected result.
- Export of data from table with ‘Export All’ option returns data as it is stored in the database.
- Export of data from table with ‘ Export (Point of View)” returns data as it is seen in the table.
- DAYS_BETWEEN function is not working as expected.
Environment
- Story reports
- SAP SuccessFactors Platform
Resolution
Currently this is the standard behavior that if we store any data in DB then it gets stored in UTC time zone but if we open the story then it will show the result according to the current browser time.
If we have the date time field, we will have some discrepancy.
In future we will make it optional. The user can decide if he wants date to be displayed in user’s operating system time zone or as stored in the database.
