3479185 - Datasphere Entity Import Missing Associations from S/4HANA On-Premise

Symptom

Datasphere Entity Import Missing Associations from S/4HANA On-premises edition.

Environment

  • SAP Datasphere
  • SAP_BASIS 755

Resolution

As mentioned in SAP Note 3081998, due to an infrastructure change in the underlying back-end tables (missing ON-Condition metadata), no associations can be delivered in the CSN definitions as of back-end release SAP_BASIS 755. In the specified releases, the entities are exported without the association definitions affected by them.

This limitation will be valid for all releases (SPs) in SAP_BASIS 7.55. No correction will be done in this SAP_BASIS 7.55 release.

Beginning with SAP_BASIS 7.56 and higher select Data Access between two options:

  • Remote Tables: The behavior in SAP_BASIS and higher will be the same as for SAP_BASIS 7.55. If the user chooses the option “Remote Tables”, the limitation will also remain with SAP_BASIS 7.56 and 7.57.
  • Replication Flow for Local Tables: If the user chooses this option, this limitation will be deleted as the Csn_Exposure service will be used. Instead of remote tables, local tables will be created, a replication flow will be also created and an assignment of the entities to the replication flow will be done automatically in the import process. To replicate the content of the corresponding tables, the replication flow can be started manually every time after the import was finished.  The option Replication Flow for Local Tables should be rolled out with datasphere Wave 13.
