3479198 - Country/Region fields are blank on Story report when using join with Personal Information

Symptom

Country/Region fields are blank on Story report when using join with Personal Information.

Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Story report
  2. On the query, add Personal Information > Country/Region
  3. Select the Country/Region columns
  4. Click on Preview Query
  5. Note that the Country/Region fields will appear blank
  6. If you create a report using only the Country/Region Foundation Object, the information will be visible

Cause

Missing permission for Nationality.

From a configuration perspective, the Nationality field derives its values from the Country/Region field. Therefore, access to both fields is essential to generate the report accurately. The report relies on a join between the Personal Information and Country/Region tables, linked by the Country/Region field (which also serves as the Nationality field).

Resolution

  1. Go to Manage Permission Roles
  2. Edit the role for the affected user
  3. Grant the permission Employee Central Effective Dated Entities -> Personal information -> Nationality
