3480071 - Billing Document Creation Time needs to save and display in a non-UTC time zone - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Symptom

There is a business requirement to have creation timestamp for invoices to be recorded in a non-UTC time zone, for example - Indian Standard Time (IST).

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

Created On Date/Time is always stored in the system time zone (UTC).

This is the designed system behavior.

Resolution

In the Public Cloud, the system time zone is set to UTC and Billing Document's Created On Date/Time is always stored in the system time zone (UTC).

Storing dates in any other time zone, like user time zone can potentially cause inconsistency of selection and reporting of documents created by different users.
