3480171 - C4C Allows Items To Be Released to ECC Even Though the Target System Is Unavailable Without Any Warning

Symptom

The C4C allows items to be successfully released without any issue to an external system even though the target tenant has a downtime.

Example: An item inside a service ticket gets released to an ECC system which is currently unavailable and, for this reason, it does not receive the desired data.

Expectation: Some message/warning from C4C that this message is not being delivered to ECC. Even though there were no IDocs generated, there were also no failure messages.

Environment

  • SAP Cloud for Customer
  • ECC
  • SAP S/4HANA
  • CPI
  • PI

Cause

This is system behavior. C4C is going to release the item even if it fails in the middleware (CPI, PI) or in the external system (ECC, S/4HANA...).

Resolution

It's not possible for C4C to send some warning if the replication fails in ECC system.
