Symptom

Sales document type CQ (Quantity contract) does not have an item category assigned for CB04 (make-to-order).

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

This is the current system behavior. Currently, the sales contract does not support the ‘Make to Order’(item category CB04) scenario.

Resolution

  • Based on the current product, sales orders can be created referring to sales contracts as a workaround. 
  • To have this function available, it is recommended to create a feature request in the Customer Influence Portal.
