3480382 - Error on rehiring the contingent worker with Hire date equal to Termination date - CS1H2024

Symptom

Application Error is shown on rehiring the contingent worker with Hire date = old Termination date ( ex: old Work Order End date = May 7, 2024,  Rehire date = May 8, 2024) when centralized service switch  "Enable centralized services for Contingent Worker UI” is enabled in Company System and Logo Settings. 

Note: The issue is observed only when “Enable Concurrent Employment” is disabled.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Make sure “ Enable Centralized Services to Add Contingent Worker and Add Assignment” is enabled in company system and logo settings.
  2. Rehire Contingent Worker - UserA.
  3. Navigate to Add Contingent Worker UI.
  4. Select Hire date = Termination Date.
  5. Click Continue > Click Accept Match.
  6. Fill the required details.
  7. Navigate to Work Order section.
  8. Update Work order start date & End Date.
  9. Click Submit.
  10. Error is shown.

Resolution

  • The fix will be patched with PTCH-44327(b2405p13) which is scheduled for 16th July 2024 in Preview & 19th July 2024 in Production environment.

Workaround

In the meantime, to temporarily unblock business activities you can temporarily disable "Enable centralized services for Contingent Worker UI" from Company System and Logo Settings and hire user again. Please note this is a temporary workaround and should not be used as a permanent solution. Please ensure you re-enable the Centralized Services switches after the issue is fixed so that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of Centralized Services. 

Please Note:

  • For Centralized Services related issues, disabling the Centralized Services switch for the component/transaction in Company System and Logo Settings is a temporary solution. You can disable the related switch as a work-around and you should enable the switch back once SAP have confirmed the issue is fixed.
