3480636 - Specific publication fails in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) & SAP Digital Boardroom

Symptom

The following behavior occurs in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC):

  • Schedule publication fails without any error messages during random time frames, while others of the same type succeeded.

Environment

  • SAP Analytics Cloud Version
  • SAP HANA Cloud

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Log on to SAC.
  2. Go to main menu>Calendar.
  3. Filter for specific publication.
  4. Notice that the publication is failed on some days without any error message under details.

Cause

  • The specific publication was set to run during EU publication scheduling peak time 3AM GMT sharp (5AM CET).
  • Due to the underlying platform scalability, this scheduling time can cause system overload and publication failures. 

Resolution

Adjust the scheduling time by applying some offset e.g. set it to 3:15AM GMT (5:15AM CET).
