Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors HCM Suite
- Analytics & Reporting (Ad Hoc, YouCalc, ORD)
- Story Report
- Story Designer - Story & Formatting
- Story Report
- Analytics & Reporting (Ad Hoc, YouCalc, ORD)
Reproducing the Issue
- Open an existing report or create a new one
- On the story page, add a story filter for the required field
- Choose the Filter by Condition option
- use the "Wildcard" Matches Pattern option
Resolution
The two available wildcards that can be used are
1. * (asterisk) - Matches any number of characters. You can use the asterisk anywhere in a character string.
For Example:
a) using *President in position title list out all the position Title ending with President
b) using President* in position title list out all the position Title starting with President
c) using *President* in position title list out all the position Title that contains President
Note: the query is case sensitive
2.? (Question mark) - Matches a single alphabet/number in a specific position.
For example, using 300000? position code field will give value such as 3000003, 3000004 etc.
