Symptom
Customer is going to perform the synchronization job using the Read-Only Replica only (exclusively, without the main database) and the synchronization (job) process finished successfully, but - in fact! - the selected catalog (products) was NOT synchronized at all.
In other words, if it was set "read-only datasource" to "true" in the Backoffice, and the sync job named similar to "[somenameProduktCatalog]:Staged->Online' finished successfully and without errors, but the changed products were NOT synchronized (this happened with both manual start and triggered full synchronization).
