3484513 - Incorrect Sender Name for Campaign Emails

Symptom

Sender Name maintained in the email channel is not used for Campaign Outbound Emails.

Environment

SAP Sales Cloud and SAP Service Cloud Version 2

Reproducing the Issue

Below are the steps to setup Email Channel for Campaign Object:

  1. Go to Settings and search for Emails.
  2. Navigate to Channels and create a new Channel.
  3. Maintain all mandatory fields like Channel NameChannel Email and set Object as Campaign.
  4. Under Sender Name, select User-Input and enter a value. For example, ABC (where ABC is the Sender Name maintained for newly created Channel).
  5. Click on Save and Activate the channel.

Below are the steps to send out email from Campaign:

  1. Go to Navigation Menu and open Sales Campaign Workcenter.
  2. Click on 'Create Campaign' (+) button.
  3. Enter the Name of the Campaign and set the Schedule to 'Run Immediately' or pick a suitable Date and Time.
  4. Under Build Campaign section, select a Target Group and toggle the 'Include Employees' button to True.
  5. Select 'Send Email' Action and under Object Based Template, select a Template.
  6. Click on Save.
  7. Set Status of the newly created Campaign to Active.

Notice that the emails are sent out, but the Sender Name is not the value maintained in the channel.

Cause

The Sender Name mentioned in Channel is a backup. While sending email, if no sender name is passed, then channel Sender Name is taken.

Resolution

This is the current expected behavior of the system. For Campaign Object, Campaign Owner is explicitly passed as Sender Name, so Channel Sender Name is overriden.
