3485453 - Cost Center Manager is updated under Direct Approvers in Shopping cart request

Symptom

On completing the 2nd level of approval, the 1st level approver (who is the cost center manager) appears grouped with 2nd level approvers (direct approvers).

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign 

Reproducing the Issue

Scenario of the Approval process :

3 level of approvers : Cost Center, Direct Approver, Direct Approver 

Below is the steps to reproduce the issue :

  1. Go to Managing My Area work center
  2. Go to Approvals view
  3. 1st level of approver search and approve the Shopping cart request 
  4. Shopping cart goes for 2nd level of approval , where it is sent for revision 
  5. Shopping cart is modified and then approved by the cost center manager (who is the 1st level approver) 
  6. 1st level approver name is now visible in both 1st and 2nd level of approvers in the Approvals tab of the shopping cart 

Cause

Cost center manager is assigned with Admin access rights, which will enable them to approve the Shopping cart post modification. Which would be the reason for the cost center manager to be shown as the direct approver in the Approvals tab. 

Resolution

As the cost center manager(1st level of approver) has admin access, approval process was performed after modifying the Shopping cart , which was actually the 2nd round of approval. Hence cost center manager name is showing up in the direct approvers list (2nd level of approval) in the Approvals tab after completion of all the levels of approval.
