3485946 - User Unable to Select Plan Type and Plan Category During Installment Plan Creation

Symptom

"Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental."

  • Plan Type and Plan Category fields do not retain selected values on the creation screen of an installment plan.
  • When attempting to create an installment plan from the Contract Account screen, the chosen values for "Plan Type" and "Plan Category" are cleared and left blank after selection.
  • Configuration for these drop-down values is not found in the V2 tenant, causing confusion about their source system.

Environment

  • SAP Service Cloud Version 2 1.0
  • SAP Sales Cloud Version 2 1.0

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Navigate to Contract Account: Go to the Contract Account module.
  2. Open the Contract Account: Select and open the relevant Contract Account.
  3. Access the Installment Plan Tab: In the Central tab, locate the option to create an installment plan.
  4. Initiate Installment Plan Creation: Click on the "+" button in the "Installment Plan" tab to start the creation process.
  5. Select Plan Type and Plan Category: On the creation screen, attempt to select a Plan Type and Plan Category.
  6. Observe the Issue: Notice that the selected values for "Plan Type" and "Plan Category" disappear, leaving the fields blank after selection.

Resolution

  • Access Configuration Guide: Please ensure referring to all the required prerequisites and configuration have been completed, refer to the SAP Help Documentation for detailed guidance on setting up the Promise to Pay and Installment Plan features.
  • Create Communication System: Ensure that the corresponding Communication System is created and configured correctly.
  • Set Up Communication Configurations: Define and update the necessary Communication Configurations to ensure the dropdown values are available.
  • Once the set up is completed in V2, confirm if all is fine using the following steps:
    1. Go to Settings -> Integration
    2. Search for "Integrate Service Cloud Utilities with SAP S/4HANA - Financials"
    3. Ensure the status is active and the Communication System has been defined
    4. Click to open, then scroll down to "HTTP Data" 
    5. Select any item from the list, then click on the Globe icon to test
    6. The system will show the services that passed the test and those that did not. You can also search for Installment to filter all services related to the Installments.
  • Installment Plan Type Configuration in SAP S/4HANA:
    • When a user selects the Plan Type, there will be a service call to SAP S/4HANA to fetch default values.
    • These default values must be maintained in the S/4HANA Installment Type Configuration.
    • Follow these steps to ensure the configuration is correct:
      1. Connect to the relevant SAP S/4HANA system.
      2. Launch the T-code SPRO.
      3. Navigate to: Contract Accounts Receivable and PayableDeferral and Installment PlanDefine Installment Plan Type.
      4. Add new entries for 0001 and 0002.
      5. Double-click on 0001 and maintain values as required (refer to your configuration guidelines or screenshot for details).
