Symptom
Prompt is displaying both previous value and new value even after the new URL parameter is passed in SAP Analytics Cloud.
Environment
Reproducing the Issue
- Login to SAC.
- Click on 'Edit Prompts' > Select the model .
- Make sure no values is selected in the Prompts > Click 'Set'.
- Save the story.
- Open the URL in a new tab and pass the parameter
- Click on Edit Prompts in this dashboard with the symbol '{}' > Select the model.
Notice that the previous value is also displayed in the prompt.
Cause
'Save Current Variable Selections' is set in the Variable Settings due to which the prompt is storing the current variable even when the new parameter is passed.
Resolution
For making the specific variable to be displayed then 'Clear Variables and Use Server-Defined Values' must be selected in the Variable Settings. Below are the steps for the workaround :
- Login to SAC.
- Click on 'Edit' > Click on 'Edit Prompt'.
- Select 'Variable Settings'.
- Click on 'Save Current Variable Selections'.
