3488196 - onView Rule behavior when clicking on Update button into Workflow Details page - Employee Central

When a onView Rule has an IF condition to comparing previous value or current value, comparison is taking database value (the one which is in profile) instead of latest value (the selected one during transaction) after clicking on Update button into Workflow Details page.

It happens the same way in Personal Information and in Compensation Information, but it behaves differently in Job Information, which takes the value selected before workflow submission.

You need to create an onView Rule and insert it in Manage Business Configuration > desired HRIS Element and make sure you have a Workflow configured for same transaction. Then:

1. Go to any user
2. Change affected field from rule configuration
3. Save
4. Workflow is triggered (you can already generate a Rule Trace which shows onView rule performing)
5. Proxy as Approver
6. Go to Workflow Details Page
7. Click on Update button
8. onView rule is executed, but database value (the one appearing in profile before workflow) is considered instead of new selection
9. Generate a new Rule Trace to check results

onView business rule will not be triggered by workflow pending data (Update button) for personalInfo and compInfo entities.

However, it will specifically work for jobInfo entity.
