3489792 - Inbound delivery does not get distributed to EWM due to error: Goods movement bin not determined or entered

Symptom

Intercompany Inbound delivery does not get distributed to WM (scope item 5HP). An error message is blocking the inbound delivery: "Goods movement bin not determined or entered" /SCWM/DELIVERY012".

Environment

SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Cause

During goods receipt posting, the system must determine the goods movement bin to post the goods to. The system can determine the goods movement bin in the following ways:

Based on non-delivery data (usually transportation unit (TU) data)
Based on the delivery item

In this situation, the system cannot automatically determine the goods movement bin based on the delivery item and does not have the option of determining the goods movement bin based on non-delivery data.

Resolution

The error message may happen due to both or one of the following reasons:

Warehouse Process Type Configuration:
- Ensure the Warehouse Process Type for the inbound delivery is configured using the "Determine Warehouse Process Type" configuration activity.
- If the standard process type doesn't meet your needs, create a new one via the "Define Warehouse Process Type" configuration activity.
- After defining the process type, make sure that it's linked to the appropriate storage bins using "Assign Storage Bins to Warehouse Process Type."
Staging Bay Determination:
- Ensure that the Warehouse Process Type maintained for the blocked inbound delivery is assigned in the apps "Define Access Sequence - Staging Areas - Inbound" and "Determine Staging Area - Inbound."
