3490524 - Dynamic Image will not be included in the exported PDF nor in scheduled publication in SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC)

Symptom

  • Dynamic Image will not be included in the exported PDF nor in scheduled publication in SAC.
  • In this scenario, Dynamic Images are loaded from the SAP HANA data model using Image_1.setImage(“”) API.

Environment

SAP Analytics Cloud (Enterprise)

Reproducing the Issue

    1. Login to SAC.
    2. Open a story with a Dynamic Image which is loaded from the SAP HANA data model using Image_1.setImage(“”) API, see help guide Add Images to Stories
    3. Export the file as PDF, see help guide Export a Story as a PDF or a PPTX (Optimized Story Experience)
    4. Open the PDF => The image is not included in the exported PDF.

    Cause

    • This is an expected behaviour in Schedule Publication workflow.
    • While loading the story for Schedule export, the image is not getting loaded. The image URL is throwing a 403 forbidden error when the script executes at story load, since its using a different network.
    • In Scheduling scenario, the image should to be accessible outside, since the export is happening in our backend service.
