3490675 - Unable to Delete a Communication System after Performing a Tenant Copy

After performing a tenant copy from a productive to a test tenant, you are now unable to delete communication systems from the test tenant using the Delete button.

An error(s) will occur, for example:

• Business System ABC can not be deleted. It is used in Org. Replication
• Business instance ABC cannot be deleted. ID mapping exists.

(ABC represents a Communication System)

SAP Business ByDesign

1. Go to Application & User Management
2. Go to the Communication Systems view
3. Select the desired communication system
4. Try to use the Delete button

Error occurs

This is standard system behavior. 

In instances where a copy has been performed from a productive tenant, there is VETO check in the test tenant prohibiting copied communication systems from being deleted.

The solution is to make the communication system in the test system Obsolete.

1. Select the desired communication system
2. Select Edit 
3. Select Actions
4. Set to Obsolete

This prohibits the communication system from being used further.
