3491032 - Material is still costed even with 'Do Not Cost' indicator - SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition

Setting the indicator ‘Do Not Cost’ in the material master and expecting the material should not be included in the costing result in “Create Material Cost Estimates” or “Edit Costing Runs”. However, the results show the material is still included.

1. Navigate app “Create Material” or “Change Material” to set ‘Do Not Cost’ indicator to ON. 
2. Perform material costing in app “Create Material Cost Estimates” or “Edit Costing Runs”. 
3. Confirm the material is included in the costing result.

If the material is included in a material BOM and costs the header material, the component material with ‘Do Not Cost’ indicator ON will still be included in the item list. This is intended system design. 

In the costing 1 tab of material master, check the F1 help for ‘Do Not Cost’ tick box indicator: "If the material is included in another cost estimate as a component to be valuated, the valuation price is determined through the valuation variant if no cost estimate with the same key exists for the material."

Remove the material from the material BOM to exclude the material with ‘Do Not Cost’ indicator ON for the costing.
