3491284 - Error While Unchecking Storage Location Indicator

The system throws an error message while unchecking the Storage Location indicator for location ID ABC (ABC represents the Location ID).

The error message reads: "Location must be inventory-managed because it has logistics areas".

1. Go to the Supply Chain Design Master Data work center.
2. Go to Locations view.
3. Search for and Select Location ID ABC.
4. Click Edit.
5. Uncheck the Storage Location option under Roles.
6. The system throws the error "Location must be inventory-managed because it has logistics areas".

The error occurs because location ID: ABC has multiple logistics areas associated with it, even though their status is marked as Obsolete. Once logistics areas have been created and activated for a location, the Storage Location indicator cannot be unchecked, regardless of the logistics areas' current status.

This behaviour is expected and designed in the system. To manage this situation, you can mark the location as Obsolete if it is no longer needed for active logistics processes.
