3491335 - Table getting split when being Word Document is Generated

Symptom

When generating a Word Document containing a table, that retrieves data from Quote Tables, header and content are split, if table begins at the end of a page.

Environment

SAP SALES CLOUD CPQ

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Create a Word Template that retrieve data from Quote Tables and insert into a Table
  2. Generate Document in CPQ
  3. When table begins at the end of a page, header is getting spliced from content.

Cause

Expected Behavior

Resolution

  • CPQ does not control the positioning of tables on pages

  • During tag processing, content shifts on the page, due to the deletion of initial tags and the addition or alteration of content

  • Issue might be mitigated by using the Paragraph/Line and Page Breaks/ "Keep with next" option on the paragraph.

  • "Keep with next" option might not work in all scenarios, due to the deletion of tags during processing

    • A possible solution to this problem is to add some static text, for example in the footer, that will always be displayed and color it white, so it will not be visible on the page, especially in PDF

    • Adding a section break (continuous) in the footer is also a possible solution

  • When creating the template, it should be kept in mind that it will change during processing.
