3491431 - Position effective start date affects the position object (std_position_obj) selection in Job requisition - Recruiting Management

Symptom

  • Can't select an active position record in position object field drop-down list.
  • Can select a position record in position object field drop-down list, but the content of the position record is not the latest.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Cause

Changing position effective start date and JobStartDate may have different effects on the selection of position record in job requisition.

Resolution

Scenario 1:

  • When JobStartDate is configured in job requisition and has a valid value which is assumed to be 06/01/xxxx, if position has only one record version and position effective start date is later than jobStartDate, such as 06/02/xxxx, then you can't find and select this active position record from the job requisition std_position_obj field drop-down list.
  • When JobStartDate is configured in job requisition and has no value, system will take the operation day's date as the value of JobStartDate.

Scenario 2:

  • If the position has many record versions and its latest record version's effective start date is earlier than jobStartDate, such as 05/30/xxxx, the position record is shown as the latest version in job requisition detail page.
  • If the position has many record versions and its latest record version's effective start date is later than jobStartDate, such as 06/02/xxxx, the position record is shown as the previous version in job requisition detail page.
