3491918 - Issue when Excel changes the data type from "Date" to "Text" in XML template - Migration Cockpit (Staging)

You open an XML template file using Microsoft Excel and find that fields that should have the data type "Date" now have the data type "Text".

When you enter data in such fields and then upload the file to the migration cockpit, the upload fails as the original template data type "Date", that is expected by the migration cockpit is now the data type "String". The upload fails with the following error messages during validation:

• CNV_DMC_MD_EXTRACTOR 015 "Uploaded file Source data for <template>.xml contains error; see the following messages for details:"
• CNV_DMC_MD_EXTRACTOR 034 "Incorrect data type for field "<field>" in row <no.> of sheet "<structure>". Type Date expected."
• LTB/MC 347 "Error occurred while validating file"

The issue was recognized in template files opened using Microsoft Excel on the Windows operating system.
