Symptom
Workflow is not triggered for an amendment timesheet which is generated by recalculation.
Environment
- SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central – Time Sheet
- SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking 2505
Resolution
This is designed system behavior, the recalculation keeps the time sheet status as original.
If original time sheet is in Approved status, after recalculation, the re-created time sheets will go to Approved status automatically.
For example:
- Create a new absence for an Approved timesheet, this will trigger recalculation.
- The Make Amendments process is triggered, and a replacement time sheet is created for the same week.
- The new amendment timesheet is Approved automatically without triggering any workflow.
Note:
- Recalculation can also be triggered by other actions mentioned in help document: Recalculation Triggers in the Time Sheet.
- After the 1H 2025 release, although no actual changes exist, any timesheets with a "last modified date" between 2025/05/17 and 2025/05/29 could be recalculated when the timesheet period is covered by a Time Management Recalculation Event.
This is due to a regression issue that came with the 1H 2025 release (on 2025/05/17) and was solved with a patch (on 2025/05/29).
As a result, any timesheet last modified during this period may be recalculated, but with no actual difference in timesheet data, if it is covered by a recalculation event.
Since there is no timesheet data change at all before and after the recalculation, there is no actual impact on payroll.
