The depreciation run does NOT translate the posting amounts for the individual currencies. In fact the currency translation takes place for the asset acquisition posting with the given posting parameters (posting date, etc.). 
The currency translation does not take place at time of the depreciation posting. This is necessary, so that the (original) APC is distributed evenly over the useful life.
If the currency translation would take place at every depreciation posting, it could not be ensured that the net book value reaches zero at the end of the useful life.
