It is not clear how the Ordinary Depreciation start date has been derived.

The ordinary depreciation start date is derived from the period control of the depreciation key assigned to the asset. 

The period controls are explain in the SAP Help Guide.

Review the depreciation key via the Display Depreciation Key Details app and cross reference with the help guide.
