Symptom
- Job classification value is changed by admin however the workflow that triggered for this change still shows old job classification value.
- Customer changes the job classification (job-code) of an employee via MSS UI (Take Action -> Change Job and Compensation Info). After confirming the workflow, this change is not reflected on the workflow approval page.
Environment
SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Position to Job Info Synchronization.
Cause
Position to Job info sync rule changes back the job classification value in employee's job information record to what is present in the position.
Resolution
- Make sure the job classification is updated in employee's position directly instead of job information record. This is the source information and will get synchronized to employee's job information.
- In case the position's job classification value is different from the newly changed job classification value then this change will get overwritten by the position to job info sync rule. Therefore, it is expected behaviour.
- In case you do not want to update the position's job classification value you can do one of the following:
- remove job classification mapping from position to job info sync rule.
- create job info to position sync rule and use it with mapping of job classification field so that when you update the job classification of employee and save, then it gets updated in employee's position as well.
