3494116 - Message "Your user does not have a BI license in this tenant..." occurs when connecting Datasphere in SAC Add-in for Excel

In SAC Add-in for Excel, after logging into Datasphere tenant, following error message is displayed:
"Your user does not have a BI license in this tenant. Please check with your administrator or use an SAP Analytics Cloud tenant where you have a BI license. Note that you can’t continue to use the add-in without a BI license."

1. Open SAC Add-in for Excel.
2. Click 'Sign in' button.
3. Enter the URL of Datasphere tenant and choose Go.
4. Enter the credentials in the new window to sign in to Datasphere tenant.
5. Following error message is displayed:
   "Your user does not have a BI license in this tenant. Please check with your administrator or use an SAP Analytics Cloud tenant where you have a BI license. Note that you can’t continue to use the add-in without a BI license." 

Until 2024 April, it was possible to connect SAP Datasphere tenant directly in SAC Add-in for Excel. After 2024 April, SAC Add-in for Excel does not support the scenario of connecting Datasphere directly, and is only possible to connect to SAC, then use SAC live connection to Datasphere.

• All existing workbooks of Datasphere continue to work.
• For new workbooks, please logon SAC tenant in the add-in, and use a SAC user that has either BI or Planning license, after that choose the Datasphere live connection to access the Datasphere datasources.
