3494514 - "A position assignment for a Higher Duty/Temporary Assignment is allowed only when “Full Responsibility” is selected" error when adding Higher Duty or Temporary Assignment - Employee Central

When adding Higher Duty or Temporary Assignment for an employee and selecting Individual Contributor or Only Delegation as "Responsibility Type", error below is displayed:

"A position assignment for a Higher Duty/Temporary Assignment is allowed only when "Full Responsibility is selected."

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central

1. Navigate to Employee Profile;
2. Click on Take Action > Add: Higher Duty/Temporary Assignment;
3. Fill in the required fields > Continue;
4. In Responsibility Type, choose either "Only Delegation" or "Individual Contributor" and fill other required fields;
5. Under Job Information, select one Position and fill the required fields;
6. Continue until submit;
7. Error is displayd: "A position assignment for a Higher Duty/Temporary Assignment is allowed only when "Full Responsibility is selected."

Providing a Position under Job Information is only allowed when Responsibility Type is "Full Responsibility".

According to the implementation guide Choosing the right Higher Duty or Temporary Assignment responsibility type, under column "Is the Higher Duty an incumbent of the position for which it is created?" it's mentioned Yes only for Full Responsibility. This means that for other Responsibility Types providing a Position under Job Information is not allowed since the Higher Duty/Temporary Assignment will anyway not be an incumbent of it.

Please note: it is currently not possible to change Position under Job Information as non-mandatory only for Higher Duty/Temporary Assignment employees. Once you change it to non-mandatory in Manage Business Configuration > jobInfo, it will apply to other types of employees as well.

Do not select a Position under Job Information or change the Responsibility Type to Full Responsibility as per your requirement.
