3494541 - Legacy Workbench - Interviewers Permissions on Job Applications Not Working Properly - Recruiting Management

Symptom

The interviewer, who also acts as a Recruiting Operator on the Job Requisition, is finding issues with Job Application permissions. The permission levels of the interviewer may be more or less than the granted ones.

For instance, a User has the secondRecruiterName (W) role, who has specific permissions for Job Application fields. Once this User is assigned to an interview for the Job Requisition, the permissions are found to be either decreased or increased beyond the original permissions designated for secondRecruiterName.

This only happens on the Legacy Workbench.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting Management

Cause

This is a product defect. The reason this happens is due to the setting Grant Interviewers the access level on Manage Recruiting Settings. Interviewer's User permissions will be overwritten by the role selected in this settings.

Resolution

Since the Legacy workbench will no longer be supported after the second half of 2024 and will be fully phased out by the first half of 2025, a workaround will be put in place.

The workaround will be a setting that will allow customers to remove the switch from Recruiting User on the workbench, preventing them from switching back to the Legacy workbench and making them use the Latest version only.

This setting will be available on the 2H 2024 Release.
