3494640 - Inconsistencies in Employee Central Integration with Compensation

Inconsistencies are seen when using Employee Central features within Compensation, such as fields in the form mapped to Employee Central not showing data, users not being included in forms, eligibility rules are not being applied correctly across multiple rewarding modules, resulting in users being incorrectly included or excluded.

Examples include:

• Upon worksheet launch, some employees do not appear even when the starting point is “all employees are eligible” and no rules are configured.
• When eligibility rules are configured, they do not include or exclude certain employees as expected.
• Forms are launched but fields mapped to Employee Central are not populated.
• Rewards & Recognition (Spot Awards): nominees who meet all eligibility conditions are still shown as ineligible.
• Variable Pay: employees are missing from Employee History and/or not included in the bonus plan because eligibility rules are not applying to them.

1. Search for planner in Define Planners and confirm employee is eligible under the planner
2. Launch a form for the planner
3. Worksheet is created but eligible employee is missing 

Or

1. Apply Eligibility Rules
2. Check in Define Planners or export the Ineligible Users file
3. User is ineligible even though matches all criteria

Or

1. Go to nominate someone
2. Add an employee
3. Message pops up that the user is not eligible
4. Check Spot Award Program eligibility rule and employee matches all criteria 

Please note that these are examples and there could be other scenarios, as long as it involves Compensation Integration with Employee Central.

User is not a valid EC user under "Check Valid EC User" in Provisioning. This issue occurs because the sourceOfRecord for the user is not set to Employee Central. The Compensation module uses the value of this field to determine whether a user is a valid Employee Central (EC) employee.

To verify whether a user is recognized as a valid Employee Central user, you can engage your implementation partner or SAP Professional Services. If you are a certified partner with access to Provisioning, you can perform the following steps:

1. Log in to the Provisioning instance.
2. Search for Check Valid EC User.
3. Enter the User ID of the employee you want to validate.
4. Run the check and review the results to determine whether the user is recognized as a valid EC user.

In order to correct this the source of record needs to be changed to EC. To change the source of the record, the field SourceOfRecord needs to be enabled in Manage Business Configuration, please refer to KBA "3308638 - How to Enable the Employment Details SourceOfRecord field in Manage Business Configuration (BCUI)?". 

Once this is enabled and that the appropriate permission has been granted, it will be possible to edit the field. Field permissions can be configured in Role-Based Permissions (RBP) under Employee Data. Once permissions are in place, the field will be available in Employment Details, where you can update the Source of Record from ONB to EC.

To identify employees whose Source of Record is still set to ONB, run an Ad Hoc Report using the Person and Employment Info (As of Date) domain. Include the following columns:

• User ID
• First Name
• Last Name
• Employment Details Source of Record

After generating the report, filter the Employment Details Source of Record column for ONB to identify all affected employees. Please note that once this field is enabled, moving forward with new hires this behavior should not happen.

• Employee Central team in case user was hired directly in Employee Central via the Hire Wizard 
• Onboarding team in case user was hired through onboarding and conversion job was run to change user to EC
