How to assign employees to an Organizational Unit through Data Import and Export Tool?
Environment
- SAP Service Cloud v2
- SAP Sales Cloud v2
Cause
You need to use the Update method in order to add new employees to an existing organizational unit.
Resolution
- Go to Data Import & Export screen.
- Click on export button.
- Select Organizational Unit entity.
- Filter by the ID of wanted org unit.
- Export the complete entity.
- Open the Organizational_Unit_Employee_Assigment file.
- Add the technical ID of the employee you want to assign to that org unit in the "Employee Technical ID" column.
- Add the Parent_Technical_Key in the Organizational_Unit_Employee_Assigment which is the Technical ID from the Org Unit in the Organizational_Unit main file.
- Save and zip all files from the export.
- Go to Data Import & Export screen.
- Click on Import and select Update option.
- Select Organizational unit entity.
- Choose option to ignore blank values.
- Set type as the one you exported.
- Upload the zip file.
- Click on import data.
