3494904 - Business rule not respecting effective date of Job Information

Symptom

Employee has multiple job information records, but the business rule always retrieves the latest job information. Image/data in this KBA is from SAP internal systems, sample data, or demo systems. Any resemblance to real data is purely coincidental.

Environment

SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central - Time Sheet
SAP SuccessFactors Time Tracking

Resolution

This is current system design. Here is an example.

  1. Create business rule BLUE_ALL_EFFE_DATE to populate allowance value based on a job information field (e.g. clock in clock out group).
  2. In job information, change the employee's clock in clock out group as CBINOUT and set the effective date to 2024/06/30.
  3. As shown in the image below, regardless of whether the allowance is recorded before or after the change date, the allowance always populates as 3 in the timesheet, referring to the latest job information record.

If you would like to retrieve records based on effective date of job information, please create an enhancement request to have this functionality considered within future development cycles. For detailed steps on how to raise an enhancement request please follow the KBA 2090228 - How to Submit Ideas for SAP SuccessFactors Products.
