To create an additional ledger as an extension ledger.

• SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition
• SAP Central Business Configuration (CBC)

To create an additional ledger as an extension ledger use configuration activity 'Define Extension Ledger' (ID 103265). 

When creating an extension ledger, please specify the underlying ledger as well as the extension ledger type. Extension ledgers inherit the configuration settings of their underlying ledger. They don’t store the postings made to the underlying ledger but only the manual postings made directly to them. Reporting on extension ledgers always includes the data from the underlying ledger although it is not physically stored in the extension ledger.

Important note: 

• You cannot make postings to vendor or customer reconciliation accounts.

• You cannot make postings to general ledger accounts that are managed on an open item basis.

• Extension ledgers are not integrated with Asset Accounting.
