3495210 - Fail to create Live Data Connection to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition via OAuth with error 'Unable to authenticate. Please verify that your credentials are valid' in SAP Analytics Cloud

• Follow SAP official help guide Live Data Connection to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition via OAuth | SAP Help Portal to create a live connection. After clicking save, it fails with error "Unable to authenticate. Please verify that your credentials are valid".
• Check the custom IDP has been enabled and the following settings in prerequisite has been applied:
  • Under Step 3, set the SAML User Mapping to Custom SAML User Mapping. Under Security - Users, the value in the Custom SAML User Mapping column must equal the User Data - User Name of the corresponding business user in the SAP S/4HANA system.

SAP Analytics Cloud(SAC)  2024.8.16

1. Create Communication system and Communication arrangement as per the the steps in Live Data Connection to SAP S/4HANA Cloud Edition via OAuth | SAP Help Portal.
2. Create a live connection to S4HC system in SAC.
3. Try to save the connection.
4. See error 'Unable to authenticate. Please verify that your credentials are valid'.

Go to Communication System-OAuth 2.0 Identity Provider-User ID Mapping Mode, change it from Global User ID to User Name. Then, create connection again and issue resolved.
