3495261 - SMQ2 Error 'ME039 - Delivery date is in the past' and BAPI003 - Instance 4791838613 of object type PurchaseOrder could not be changed

Symptom

Delivery is created with reference to a Purchase Order and distributed to EWM. In EWM, new item is added in the delivery. Queue to update the new item in ERP/S4 get stuck with below error

BAPI003 - Instance 4791838613 of object type Purchase Order could not be changed

ME039 - Delivery date is in the past

Queue involved in adding the items --> /SPE/CHANGE_STO_FOR_DIRDLV | BAPI_OUTB_DELIVERY_CHANGE | /SPE/INB_DELIVERY_REPLACE queue
