3495607 - Unified Data Model - Field label changes and translations

Symptom

With UDM all RCM field labels and values in the CSB configuration are retrieved from RCM directly via API.
This means that the labels have to be changed and/or translated in RCM in order to appear in all the configured locales in the CSB configuration and on the career site.
Where this must be done depends on the field.
Labels will then be updated in the CSB configuration (Search configuration, Job tokens in layouts, category rules) and will be reflected on the career site also.

Important note on the time it takes for label changes to be reflected in CSB and on the site :
On the RCM side these labels are cached and refreshed every 6 hours. There is no manual override for this process.
On the RMK career side the labels are cached and refreshed every 12 hours unless a cache refresh is forced via a site reload. (save on site configuration)
As a result, label changes can only be reflected 6 hours after they are updated, provided a CSB reload is done.

Note that the CSB Translations tool does not apply to those newly available fields so they will not be listed.
This applies to the new navigation labels such as the facets selection menu or the results sorting options.
Also note that for sections that are affected by UDM, once it is enabled, labels changes done via the Translations tool for fields that existed previously (such as the Title job token) will also not be reflected on the career site or CSB.
This applies to the filters added to category and job layout rules as well a job token labels in job layouts.
This is considered for enhancement in a future release.

Resolution

New objects:
Job Location (sfstd_jobLocation_obj) is a standard field, its label and translations are updated via Admin Center > Manage Job Requisition System Field Labels

For Job Location short format, long format, and Marketing Brand, Manage Languages has to be used and the keys to update are respectively RCM_JOB_LOCATION_SHORT,  RCM_JOB_LOCATION_LONG and EMAIL_CAMPAIGN_BRAND.
See KBA 2576546 - Using the Manage Language Feature to Change Labels in SuccessFactors

Location fields contained in the Job Location object (City, Country, neighbourhood.....)
Labels can be localised in Configure Object Definitions  (make correction > Details> Label (click on Translations icon)

Picklists field values : Configure translated values in the Picklist management tool.

JobLocation object field values :
The new JobLocation object has localization options for all configured field labels so these must be populated for all enabled locales via Manage Data.

Filter fields and mfieldsThe filter and mfield field labels are fetched from Internal and External Career Applicant Search Settings page.
Note the metadata considers internal labels for this, regardless if they are used on the internal or external site.

Division and Department objects fieldsManage Languages has to be used. Keys to update are RECRUITING_DIVISION_OBJECT and
RECRUITING_DEPARTMENT_OBJECT"

Location, Division and Department Enum type fields : these are not supported in UDM and will not appear anywhere (See 3442950 - Unified Data Model - Supported field types for search filters - Recruiting Marketing)
