3495645 - Accessing HANA Tables Fails With Error: Column encryption key with ID <UUID> could not be retrieved from the server. No local client key pairs have access to this key

Symptom

  • You are not able to access a HANA table and you are getting error:

    A password is required to open the key store.

    or

    * -10429: A password is required to open or create the key store. Opening of the Keystore failed. SQLSTATE: HY000

  • After specifying cseKeyStorePassword as in Configuring Client Connection Properties for Client-Side Data Encryption | SAP Help Portal and trying to access the table again, you get the following error: 

    * -10429: Column Encryption Key with UUID <your UUID> could not be retrieved from the server. No local client keypairs have access to this key. SQLSTATE: HY000
