3496101 - Planned Quantity in Production Order Report Does Not Match BOM Quantity

Symptom

In the report 'Production Orders by Header input,' the planned quantity does not match the Bill of Materials (BOM) quantity.

Environment

SAP Business ByDesign.

Reproducing the Issue

  1. Go to work center Business Analytics.
  2. Access view Design Data Sources.
  3. Search "Production Orders By Header Input Products", click Preview.
  4. Maintain Production Order ID.
  5. Maintain Material ID.
  6. Click Apply.
  7. In the View Section, maintain the following:
    1. Under Key Figures in Column fields, add:
      1. 'Planned Quantity'
      2. 'Fulfilled Quantity'
  8. You will notice that the resulting report shows a Planned Quantity that differs from the Planned Quantity shown in the BOM.

Cause

The report aggregates the material from both the Supply Operation and the Make Operation, resulting in the discrepancy.

To better understand the breakdown, apply a filter within the report to display the Operation ID, which should illustrate the split.

Resolution

This is the system's expected behavior. The report's aggregation method combines quantities from multiple operations, which may result in the observed difference.
